UNIT DESCRIPTOR: Provide First Aid / Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
On completion of this course participants will have the skills and knowledge to:
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures
- Perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines
- Communicate details of an incident
- Review an incident
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.
Entry Requirements: Reading and Writing in basic English. Students must also complete some pre-reading and questions.
Duration: This course is delivered over 1 day.
Fees: The cost to complete this course is $180.
