CPR First-Aid Course Training in Melbourne- Procon Training

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) involves applying chest compressions and rescue breaths to people having a cardiac arrest.

The CPR course provides the skills and knowledge required for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.

You will also learn when and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and the procedure for completing a workplace incident form. The course is required learning for workers who may need to perform CPR, in a range of situations including community and workplace settings.

The CPR First Aid Course is a hands-on training course to help you respond swiftly and appropriately in the event a worker, visitor or other individual suffers a cardiac arrest.

While minor injuries can be treated without special training, in the case of an unconscious casualty, it takes knowledge and skill to perform CPR.

The CPR course covers an introduction to first aid principles, airway and breathing management and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation breathing and early defibrillation.

Outcomes You Can Expect After Completing The CPR First-Aid Course

On completion of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills to:

  • Recognise an emergency requiring CPR and be able to take swift action
  • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines including: Rescue Breaths, Chest Compressions, When to Stop CPR and Dealing with Infants
  • Follow guidelines for implementing: airway management of the unconscious casualty, ongoing management, reassurance and moving the injured patient
  • Accurately communicate and report details of an incident
  • Understand legal considerations including: Duty of Care, Negligence and Confidentiality
  • Learn about hazard identification and risk management
  • Communicate with casualties, call for assistance, allocate roles and responsibilities for post-incident equipment clean-up
  • Carry out a primary examination, follow DRSABCD’s Emergency Action Plan/Basic Flowchart
  • Understand the defibrillation including; The Features of Modern Defibrillators, Operating a Defibrillator and Defibrillator Products
